Uganda Update: Methodist and Pentecostal Ministers Receive the Message of the Hour

From a simple decision to broadcast on radio the voice of God’s prophet translated in the Luganda language, an extraordinary move of God sprang forth in Uganda. No one involved in that original decision could foresee the way that God would use the weekly broadcast. However, as we watch events unfold, we continue to be amazed as we observe the sovereignty of God in action.

“Sovereign grace is from a sovereign One. Sovereign grace from a sovereign One. Sovereign, what can it do? Sovereign can do whatever it wants to. Listen to this now. Sovereign grace can only be given by One that’s Sovereign. And God is Sovereign, so He can give sovereign grace. Therefore, being sovereign, grace don’t have to ask anybody; it don’t has to… It does what it wants to. Isn’t that wonderful? It don’t has to ask, “Can I do this? Or, shall I do this? Can I? Must I? Will I?” Doesn’t do it. It does it itself. Grace is sovereign; therefore, He can save the vilest. He can save the worst. He can save the impurest. He can save the immoralest. He can heal the sickest.”   Message of Grace. August 27, 1961

Even while newly baptized Believers are receiving freshly printed Bibles in the Luganda language, there are many other pastors from denominations urgently desiring to hear the Word of God to our Age. Brother Ibale received a request from a Methodist pastor to have a personal meeting with a few Methodist ministers. They had been listening to the radio broadcast and were very interested to hear more. Through a distant relative who was a Message Believer, a meeting was arranged.

Twenty five Methodist Pastors gathered 45km East of Iganga where Brother Ibale lives, in a town called Bubalya.  The Word of God that was ministered in that meeting impacted the Methodists so mightily that they confessed that they were convinced of their need for baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus. The Lord indeed breaking through the denominational veil of tradition to minister and touch their hearts.

Just a few days after that meeting, there was another meeting with Pentecostal ministers who were hearing the Message Truths for the first time. Brother Fred Kiyingi met with 90 Pentecostal ministers who all rejoiced to hear the Word of God. The truth of the Godhead was revealed to them and they desired baptism; however, immersion in water had to wait until the current shut down would allow it. In the meantime, these ministers can immerse themselves further through the Luganda language Church Age books which were provided to the Believers.  Other gatherings are taking place around the country with other ministers. In one place where the leaders rejected the Truth, there were some ministers that came privately to embrace the Message of the Hour.

While Bible Believers has printed 15,000 Church Age Books and 10,000 Bibles, it is plain to see that these quantities will not be sufficient to meet the great demand. Pray with us as we believe our God for all these precious souls and their great appetite for the Word of the Hour.

We never cease to be amazed at how God is working to fulfill His redemptive purpose.
