First Printing of the Ateso Church Age Book in 30 Years

When the Ateso translation project began, the first order of business was to take translations done in the 1980’s and 90’s and transcribe them onto the Message Hub web site. Sometimes it meant using old, faded books, such as the Exposition of the Seven Church Ages, and carefully transcribe them, then proofread them to ensure accuracy. While the Believers were very thankful for the efforts of End Time Message Tabernacle (Edmonton, Canada) and Brother Harold Hildebrandt in particular, it had been decades since the Church Age Book had been printed.

Translating the Message of the Hour into local languages is a very important first step to getting the Message into the hands of Believers. When the first Ateso translation was published on the Message Hub in October of 2021, it was only the beginning. The translation team pressed ahead and with the completion of the Seed Library (see article in Spring 2024 BFCR) 249 books and tracts are now available on the Hub for printing.

Yet even from the beginning of the translation effort, the print office in Kampala began to print 3000 copies of one title monthly in the Ateso language, coinciding with the printing schedule of several other languages. This provided a steady stream of spiritual food for the Ateso-speaking Believers. Then in August 2024, the Ateso Pastors gathered with joy to receive the reprint of the Church Age Book for their congregations.

Bible Believers is thankful to all who gave to the translation effort, the ongoing printing effort, and the specific printing of the Church Age Book. You can see by the accompanying video and pictures the great joy in the Pastors’ hearts to receive such treasures from the support of concerned Believers.

Recently we had a podcast with Brother Talemwa Busobozi, who manages the print effort, about his trip to the Teso and Karamoja region to deliver the books. You can hear that podcast here.

God bless all the Believers whose prayer and support made this effort possible.
